When You’re Stuck in Traffic

So I just got home, after setting 30 minutes waiting in traffic to get to work. You know how frustrating that can be! Finally I called the clinic and told them I’d be in when the traffic clears. On the way home I heard the Freeway was closed down for five miles from a horrible accident. Several vehicles were hit by a truck, and there were fatalities involved. Suddenly my impatience the get where I needed to go seemed pretty insignificant.
We get so wrapped up in what is happening to us. You know what I mean, how long does it take that attendant to pump my gas? get Grandpa off the road, let him drive a golf cart! Hurry up! are you mentally challenged? Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. Today, some family is going to have a police officer knock on their door and tell them their, Mother, or Father, son, or daughter, someone they loved was dead. Killed on a freeway in rush hour traffic.
that individual really doesn’t give a rats tail how impatient I was. They could care less right now whether you had the freeway blocked for the next two weeks. As a matter of fact, if for some miracle their loved one could be saved, guess what folks? We’d be finding a different way to town.
This is the holiday season, I just wanted to remind everyone to take every moment you have, and use it well. Tell you family you love them, laugh, and smile, and reach out to others. You never know when you’ll meet that semi on the freeway, and it’ll be your family who opens the door to the police officer. Just something to think about…Colleen
